Job Description:

Location: Leeds, UK
Salary: £35,000
Employment Type: Full-time

We are looking for an experienced Export Coordinator to join a busy freight forwarding operation.

You will be responsible for coordinating export shipments from initial booking through to final departure, ensuring freight is processed accurately, efficiently and in line with customer requirements. You will work closely with customers, airlines, handling agents, overseas offices and transport providers to keep shipments moving and resolve any issues along the way.

This is a fast-paced role suited to someone who is organised, commercially aware and comfortable managing multiple shipments and deadlines.

• Manage export shipments from booking through to departure.
• Arrange bookings with airlines and negotiate appropriate routing and schedules.
• Prepare and process export documentation and shipping instructions.
• Liaise with customers to obtain all necessary shipment information and documentation.
• Coordinate collections and deliveries with hauliers and transport providers.
• Work closely with airlines, handling agents and overseas partners.
• Monitor shipments and provide customers with regular updates.
• Ensure all customs requirements and export procedures are completed correctly.
• Prepare and check Air Waybills and other relevant shipping documentation.
• Track flight schedules and proactively manage delays, amendments and operational issues.
• Obtain and review freight rates where required.
• Ensure shipments are correctly invoiced and files are completed accurately.
• Maintain accurate records and update internal systems throughout the shipment lifecycle.
• Resolve customer and operational queries quickly and professionally.
• Ensure all shipments are handled in accordance with company procedures and service standards.

You will be:

• Experienced in air freight forwarding, within an export environment.
• Knowledgeable of air export procedures and documentation.
• Confident communicating with customers, airlines, agents and suppliers.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Comfortable working to tight deadlines.
• Able to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• A strong problem solver with a proactive approach.
• Commercially aware and confident dealing with rates and suppliers.
• IT literate and comfortable using freight forwarding systems.
• A strong team player with a positive and professional attitude.
