Job Title: Shift Supervisor, Afternoons
Location: Leeds Operations Centre
Reporting To: Warehouse Operations Manager
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 14:00-22:00

Job Summary

Swift Temps Ltd is recruiting for a dedicated Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations and ensure efficient management of materials, shipping, and receiving processes for our client based in Leeds, LS11. The successful candidate will lead a team of warehouse staff, coordinate logistics activities, and implement process improvements to optimize workflow. This role is vital in maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring safety standards, and supporting the overall supply chain functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive warehouse experience, comprehensive understanding of logistics systems and will hold a valid FLT licence.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Supervise, motivate, and allocate daily workloads to warehouse personnel across rotating shifts.
• Operational Control: Oversee daily shift activity to ensure seamless handovers and consistent productivity.
• Performance Metrics: Monitor and drive performance to hit strict customer service levels and internal KPIs.
• Health & Safety: Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing company health and safety standards.
• Inventory & Systems: Utilize PC applications and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to track inventory accuracy.

What We Are Looking For

• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience: Previous 1st-line management or supervisory experience in a logistics/warehouse setting is highly advantageous.
• Communication: Excellent written, verbal, numerical, and literacy skills.
• Technical Savvy: Good basic PC knowledge and a solid awareness of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Work Ethic: Highly reliable, self-motivated, organized, and capable of working under pressure with sharp attention to detail.
• Flexibility: A flexible approach to working hours and a willingness to work overtime when required to meet operational demands.
• FLT licence
