Job Description:

Purpose of the Role

The Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor is responsible for leading the day‑to‑day operation of the warehouse, yard, and logistics function, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable handling, storage, and dispatch of goods.

The role ensures that all deliveries, both residential and commercial are executed accurately and on time, while maintaining full control of stock across all locations. Through effective team leadership, operational discipline, and system accuracy, the role supports seamless delivery performance and upholds Ventrolla’s reputation for quality and professionalism.

In representing Ventrolla’s heritage and brand values, the role also ensures that all team members consistently demonstrate a high standard of presentation, behaviour, and customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities for the Warehouse & Logistics role

Leadership & Operational Delivery

• Supervise, lead, and support warehouse and yard team to ensure safe, efficient daily operations.
• Allocate tasks effectively and manage shift schedules to optimise productivity and service levels.
• Set clear expectations, monitor performance, and drive accountability across the team.
• Coordinate warehouse, yard, and logistics activity to ensure smooth end‑to‑end order flow.
• Proactively identify operational risks, resolve issues, and escalate where required to protect delivery commitments.

Goods Handling & Dispatch

• Plan, book, and manage the dispatch of goods to residential and commercial customers.
• Ensure all orders are accurately picked, prepared, and dispatched to meet agreed delivery schedules.
• Maintain clear communication with drivers, customers, and logistics partners to ensure a reliable service.
• Resolve delivery issues promptly and professionally, maintaining customer confidence.

Stock Control & Inventory Management

• Maintain full ownership of stock accuracy using Ventrolla’s tailored stock control system.
• Ensure all stock movements (inbound, outbound, transfers) are recorded accurately and in real time.
• Conduct regular stock checks across all locations, including in-house facilities and remote lock‑ups.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, implementing corrective actions to maintain system integrity.
• Ensure stock levels are maintained at required levels to support operational demand.

Vehicle & Equipment Management

• Oversee the maintenance, servicing, and readiness of company vans and yard equipment.
• Conduct and enforce routine checks to ensure compliance with legal and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure any faults are reported and resolved promptly.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are safe, reliable, and fit for operational use at all times.

Health & Safety Compliance

• Lead and enforce health and safety standards across all warehouse, yard, and logistics activities.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure safe systems of work are adhered to.
• Ensure all staff are trained, equipped, and compliant with PPE requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring incidents, near misses, and hazards are reported and addressed promptly.

Professional Presentation & Brand Standards

• Ensure all staff consistently wear company‑issued uniform and present themselves professionally.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and professionalism, particularly in customer‑facing activities such as deliveries.
• Uphold Ventrolla’s reputation and heritage through courteous, respectful, and professional conduct at all times.

Operational Reporting & System Discipline

• Maintain accurate operational records including dispatch logs, stock movements, inspections, and vehicle checks.
• Ensure consistent use of internal systems, including Tradagram and stock control tools.
• Provide clear and timely operational updates to management, highlighting risks, issues, and performance trends.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to strengthen processes, accuracy, and efficiency.
