Tendering Engineer – BESS & HV Substations

£60,000–£75,000 + Package
Permanent - Hybrid
Power / Renewables / HV Infrastructure

JL Renewable Solutions is supporting a rapidly growing energy infrastructure business with the appointment of experienced Tendering Engineers / Electrical Estimators to support an expanding portfolio of major BESS, HV substation and grid infrastructure projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tendering or estimating professional to become involved at the front end of significant energy infrastructure projects across the UK.

You'll work closely with engineering, commercial, procurement and project delivery teams to develop competitive, technically robust tender submissions.

The Role

As Tendering Engineer, you'll be responsible for:

• Preparing and coordinating tenders for HV electrical and renewable energy infrastructure projects.
• Reviewing client specifications, drawings and tender documentation.
• Developing cost estimates and pricing for project delivery.
• Producing detailed tender submissions and supporting commercial proposals.
• Reviewing technical requirements and identifying project risks and opportunities.
• Coordinating input from engineering, procurement, commercial and operational teams.
• Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Supporting bid strategy and tender reviews.
• Identifying clarifications, exclusions and assumptions.
• Supporting successful project handover from tender through to delivery.
• Working across a growing portfolio of BESS, substation and grid infrastructure schemes.

About You

I'm particularly interested in candidates with:

• Previous experience in Tendering, Estimating, Proposals or Bid Engineering.
• Experience within HV power, substations, renewables, BESS, grid connections or electrical infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering/project delivery.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings and scopes of work.
• Strong commercial awareness.
• Experience obtaining and evaluating subcontractor/supplier quotations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work across multiple tenders simultaneously.

Experience within the UK Transmission & Distribution market would be particularly advantageous.
