Salary: MPS/UPS (Dependent on Experience)

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and dedicated Design Technology & Food Technology Teacher to join our vibrant secondary school in Wakefield from January 2027. This exciting opportunity offers a 50/50 teaching split between Design Technology and Food Technology, delivering engaging lessons that inspire students to develop practical skills, creativity, and a passion for learning.

Working four days per week, the successful candidate will be part of a supportive and well-resourced department committed to achieving excellent outcomes for all learners.

The successful candidate will:

• Teach Design Technology and Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that challenge and motivate students.
• Assess, monitor, and track student progress effectively.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance, and achievement.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider aims of the school.

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Has experience teaching Design Technology and/or Food Technology at secondary level.
• Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and a passion for practical learning.
• Has strong classroom management skills.
• Is committed to raising standards and improving student outcomes.
• Can build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
