Leeds (LS10) | Permanent | Full-Time

Up to £38,000 + Strong Bonus | 23 Days Holiday + 8 Bank Holidays

We are currently recruiting on behalf of an established and highly respected international freight forwarding business for an experienced Ocean Freight Exporter to join their team in Leeds.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Ocean Freight professional who is looking to take full ownership of their export shipments from quote right through to invoice, working within an established and supportive team.

You will be responsible for managing the complete Ocean Freight Export process, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently, accurately and to a high standard from the initial quotation through to final invoicing.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing Ocean Freight Export shipments from Quote to Invoice
• Preparing and issuing quotations to customers
• Booking shipments with shipping lines and overseas partners
• Arranging collections and coordinating transport
• Preparing and checking export documentation
• Liaising with customers, shipping lines, hauliers and overseas agents
• Managing shipping instructions and ensuring documentation is completed correctly
• Monitoring vessels and shipment progress
• Providing customers with regular updates throughout the shipment lifecycle
• Handling any operational issues, delays or amendments
• Coordinating customs clearance where required
• Checking freight costs and ensuring accurate invoicing
• Maintaining strong relationships with customers and international partners
• Ensuring all shipments are managed within agreed deadlines and service requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience within Ocean Freight Exports
• Strong knowledge of the full export forwarding process
• Experience managing shipments from quotation through to invoicing
• Good knowledge of shipping documentation and export procedures
• Experience dealing with shipping lines, hauliers and overseas agents
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
• The ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously
• A proactive approach to problem solving
• The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider team

• Salary up to £38,000, depending on experience
