Protocol Education is recruiting confident and passionate Nursery Leads to support nursery settings, Nursery classes and Reception environments across local schools in Pontefract.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Early Years professional who enjoys taking responsibility for a setting or room, supporting a team and creating a high-quality learning environment for young children.

As a Nursery Lead, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the nursery or Early Years provision, ensuring children receive a safe, engaging and nurturing experience.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Leading the day-to-day running of the nursery or allocated room
• Supporting and guiding Early Years Practitioners and Teaching Assistants
• Planning and delivering engaging EYFS activities
• Supporting children's learning and development through play
• Monitoring children's progress and identifying areas for development
• Supporting the delivery of the EYFS framework
• Developing strong relationships with children, parents and carers
• Supporting children with SEND and additional needs
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed consistently
• Maintaining a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment
• Working closely with teachers, senior leaders and other Early Years staff
• Supporting observations, assessments and children's learning journeys

We’re looking for candidates who:

• Have previous experience working in an EYFS or nursery setting
• Have experience in a senior, lead or supervisory Early Years role
• Have a strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
• Are confident leading a team and managing day-to-day responsibilities
• Are passionate about providing high-quality Early Years education
• Can build strong relationships with children, colleagues and families
• Have experience supporting children with SEND
• Have a strong understanding of safeguarding
• Are organised, reliable and adaptable
• Hold a relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or equivalent where required
