£36,703.28 + annual bonus of up to £1,000

We are recruiting a Machine Operator / Manufacturing Operative to join a busy 24-hour manufacturing operation in Featherstone, near Pontefract.

This is a hands-on position where you will operate industrial machinery, monitor production, complete quality checks and work alongside your team to keep the manufacturing process running safely and efficiently.

The factory operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You must therefore be comfortable working a rotating shift pattern that includes days, nights and some weekends.

Due to the shift times and site location, you will need your own reliable transport.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Operating, setting up and monitoring industrial manufacturing machinery
• Packing finished products and completing the required production checks
• Monitoring quality, productivity and machine performance throughout the shift
• Carrying out routine equipment inspections, basic asset care and minor maintenance
• Following all health, safety, hygiene, environmental and quality procedures
• Maintaining excellent standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation
• Working closely with colleagues to achieve production and quality targets
• Identifying practical improvements and supporting a continuous-improvement culture

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Previous machine-operating or manufacturing experience is preferred
• Good mechanical aptitude and an interest in how machinery and production processes work
• A safety-first approach and the discipline to follow established procedures
• Strong attention to detail and a genuine commitment to product quality
• Reliable attendance and excellent timekeeping
• A positive, flexible attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a shift team
• Confidence solving straightforward problems and escalating issues appropriately
• Flexibility to work rotating days, nights and weekends
• Your own reliable transport due to the shift pattern
