IT Support Technician

Salary: £28,000 - £34,000 DOE
Location: Brighouse – Site based Mon-Fri

Elevation Tech & Transformation are working with a growing business looking for a proactive and customer-focused IT Support Technician to join their team. This is a varied role offering the opportunity to provide 1st and 2nd line support while gaining exposure to both on-premises infrastructure and cloud technologies.

You’ll play an important role in keeping users productive, supporting core IT systems and helping to maintain a secure and reliable technology environment.

What you'll be doing

• Providing 1st and 2nd line IT support to users across the business.
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, printer and network issues.
• Managing and prioritising tickets in line with agreed service levels.
• Supporting users across Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, OneDrive and SharePoint.
• Administering user accounts, licences, shared mailboxes, security groups and permissions.
• Supporting Active Directory, Group Policy and Windows Server environments.
• Assisting with the administration and monitoring of Hyper-V hosts and virtual machines.
• Supporting VM provisioning, backups, maintenance and disaster recovery activities.
• Monitoring and administering ESET Endpoint Security, investigating alerts and supporting wider security initiatives.
• Providing basic support for SQL Server and business-critical applications.
• Supporting Power BI users with access, reporting and data refresh issues.
• Installing and maintaining laptops, desktops, printers and other IT equipment.
• Troubleshooting LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi and VPN connectivity issues.
• Maintaining accurate IT asset records and technical documentation.
• Working with colleagues across the business to identify opportunities for improvement and deliver a high level of customer service.

What we're looking for

We’re looking for someone with previous experience in an IT Support, Service Desk or IT Technician position who enjoys solving problems and working directly with users.

You’ll ideally have:

• Strong knowledge of Windows 11 and desktop support.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments.
• Good understanding of Active Directory administration.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, printers and peripherals.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VPNs.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• A structured and organised approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

It would be great if you also have experience with:

• Hyper-V virtualisation.
• SQL Server.
• Power BI.
• ESET security solutions.
• Windows Server administration.
• Backup and disaster recovery technologies.
• ERP/business applications, ideally SYSPRO.
• Microsoft certifications such as MD-102, MS-900 or AZ-900.
• CompTIA A+, Network+ or equivalent qualifications.
