Interim Home Manager Harrogate | Residential and Dementia Care | Competitive Day Rate

An established care provider is seeking an experienced Interim Home Manager to provide strong leadership within a residential care home in Harrogate.

This is a hands-on role for a capable manager who can quickly assess the service, support the team and maintain safe, high-quality care. You will be confident managing operational pressures, addressing concerns promptly and ensuring the home remains compliant and well led.

The role. As Interim Home Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Providing visible day-to-day leadership across the home.
• Maintaining safe, person-centred care for residents.
• Supporting and directing the management and care team.
• Ensuring compliance with CQC requirements, safeguarding duties and company policies.
• Reviewing care plans, medication processes, risk assessments, audits and action plans.
• Managing staffing, rotas, agency use and recruitment requirements.
• Addressing performance, absence, conduct and capability matters appropriately.
• Building confidence with residents, families, commissioners and healthcare professionals.
• Managing incidents, complaints and safeguarding concerns effectively.
• Identifying immediate risks and implementing clear, sustainable improvements.
• Keeping senior management updated on quality, workforce and operational performance.

About you. You will be an experienced Home Manager, Registered Manager or turnaround-focused Interim Manager with a background in elderly residential, dementia or nursing care.

You will need:

• Proven experience managing a CQC-regulated care home.
• A strong working knowledge of safeguarding, care governance and CQC compliance.
• Experience leading teams through operational or quality challenges.
• Confidence with audits, care planning, medication management and action planning.
• The ability to establish credibility quickly with staff, residents and families.
• A calm, organised and practical approach.
• Availability to start at short notice.

An active NMC PIN would be beneficial, but is not essential.
