Management Accountant

£52,000 salary | 3-month FTC | Bradford | On-site

Elevation Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for a Management Accountant to join a Bradford-based business on an initial 3-month fixed-term contract.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced Management Accountant who is comfortable coming into a business where there is a lot to get through and things need sorting quickly. The finance function is currently going through a busy period, with a number of areas requiring attention across reconciliations, month end, audit and year end.

The business is also in the process of moving from Sage 200 to SAP, so there is a particular need for someone who can get into the detail, identify where things aren't tying up and help bring the accounts back into a good position.

The role will include:

• Taking ownership of the monthly management accounts and month-end process, ensuring everything is completed accurately and on time
• Reviewing and working through balance sheet reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and resolving historical issues
• Investigating differences within the accounts and putting the necessary corrections through
• Supporting the finance team through the ongoing Sage 200 to SAP transition
• Working through outstanding finance issues and providing additional support wherever it is needed
• Supporting the current audit, providing information and resolving queries
• Getting involved with year-end preparation and close
• Reviewing existing processes and controls and making improvements where appropriate
• Working closely with the wider finance team to keep things moving and make sure key deadlines are met
• Taking a practical, hands-on approach to whatever needs picking up

About you:

We're looking for a qualified or QBE Management Accountant who is confident working independently and can hit the ground running.

You'll need to be someone who is comfortable coming into a situation that isn't necessarily neat and tidy, working out what needs attention and getting stuck in without needing lots of direction. Strong reconciliation and month-end experience is important, as is the ability to investigate issues and work through them methodically.

Experience of Sage 200 and/or SAP would be useful, particularly if you've been involved in a finance system transition, although the key requirement is strong core accounting knowledge and the confidence to deal with a varied workload.

This is a role where practical experience, problem-solving and the ability to get things back on track will be valued just as much as technical accounting knowledge.
