Your new role...

Working as part of a busy Credit Control team, you will take responsibility for managing a portfolio of customer accounts and ensuring outstanding balances are collected in a timely manner.Some of the daily duties involved will include:

• Managing and maintaining a section of the sales ledger.
• Chasing overdue accounts via telephone, email and written correspondence.
• Building positive working relationships with customers to resolve payment issues efficiently.
• Allocating and reconciling customer payments.
• Processing and balancing incoming bank payments.
• Investigating and resolving account queries, proof of delivery requests and payment disputes.
• Liaising with internal departments and the wider sales team regarding overdue accounts and customer issues.
• Supporting the wider finance function and assisting with ad hoc duties when required.

The role offers a varied workload and would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership of their accounts while working collaboratively with colleagues.

What you'll need to succeed...

• Previous experience in a Credit Control, Accounts Receivable or Sales Ledger role.
• Confidence communicating with customers by phone and email.
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.
• Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Experience reconciling accounts and allocating payments.
• A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to support colleagues.
• Good IT skills, including experience using finance systems and Microsoft Office.
