Associate / Associate Director / Director – Building Services (Mechanical or Electrical)

Location: Leeds / York
Salary: £70,000 – £90,000 DOE

Are you an experienced Building Services Associate, Associate Director or Director looking for an opportunity where you can have a genuine influence on the growth of a business?

Zest4Talent is working with an established and growing Building Services Engineering Consultancy looking to make two key senior appointments – one Mechanical and one Electrical – as part of its continued expansion across the Leeds and York region.

We are keen to speak with senior Mechanical Building Services Engineers and Electrical Building Services Engineers currently operating at Associate, Associate Director or Director level.

This is much more than another senior design role.

You will take a leading role in delivering significant projects, developing client relationships and new opportunities, while helping to establish and grow a regional Building Services team around you.

The Role

As a senior member of the Building Services team, your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the Mechanical or Electrical Building Services delivery of major projects

• Working across significant BTR, PBSA, residential, industrial and logistics developments

• Providing technical leadership and oversight throughout the project lifecycle

• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients

• Identifying opportunities for additional work and contributing to regional business development

• Supporting bids, proposals and client presentations

• Providing commercial input and helping drive successful project delivery

• Mentoring and developing Mechanical and Electrical Engineers as the team grows

• Working closely with the wider leadership team to establish and grow the consultancy's presence across Leeds, York and the wider Yorkshire region

• Playing a central role in the future development of the regional Building Services offering

About You

We would particularly like to hear from candidates with:

• Experience at Associate, Associate Director or Director level within Building Services, MEP or a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy

• A strong technical background in either Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

• A proven track record delivering significant Building Services / MEP projects

• Experience within BTR, PBSA, residential and/or industrial and logistics developments

• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of project financial performance

• Established client relationships and confidence operating in a highly client-facing position

• The ability to identify and develop new business opportunities

• Strong leadership and team development skills

• A relevant Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering degree or equivalent qualification

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent would be highly desirable

Most importantly, you will be somebody who combines strong technical Building Services knowledge with the personality and commercial awareness to develop relationships, win the confidence of clients and help build a successful team.
